William Stutz is the founder of Stutz Brown & Self and served as senior legal counsel until he retired in 2010. Mr. Stutz opened this firm well over 30 years ago based on principles of competency, trust and great service. These are the core values in which the firm continues to be structured to this day. Mr. Stutz' career includes many highlights such as serving as Deputy Judge of the Ontario Court (General Division - Small Claims Court) for 8 years and serving as a Reviewer for the Law Society's Practice Review Program. Mr. Stutz practiced law in Orangeville for almost 40 years and he developed a large client base whose trust in him never wavered since he opened his practice in 1976. Mr. Stutz remains on as counsel to the firm.

Jason Self is the managing partner of Stutz Brown & Self. Since being called to the bar in 2005, Mr. Self has worked tirelessly to establish a loyal client base with relationships built on trust. Mr. Self has a general solicitor's practice with emphasis on residential and commercial real estate and mortgaging, land use planning, wills and estate planning, corporate and small business, municipal law and estate administration. Mr. Self is honoured to have a diverse client mix that includes municipalities, local utility providers, home builders and developers, and countless local businesses and individuals. Mr. Self is a proud father of two wonderful children and a die-hard sports fan.

Robert Brown was called to the Ontario Bar in 1995. Prior to joining our firm he practised law with a high profile litigation firm in downtown Toronto and worked on some of the most notable cases before the Ontario courts. He has appeared on trials and motions in all levels of the Ontario courts including a number of appearances at the Court of Appeal for Ontario. In his eleven years of practice, Mr. Brown has gained extensive experience in litigation, dispute resolution, mediation, and arbitration. He can provide counsel to our clients in many areas of litigation including Insurance, Disability, Personal Injury, Motor Vehicle Accident claims, Estates and Trusts, Breach of Contract, Debt Collection, Employment and Wrongful Dismissal, Corporate-Commercial, Construction claims, Human Rights and violations of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and Class Actions. Mr. Brown can also provide advice for Estate Planning, Estate Administration and general legal advice on most matters that have potential for litigation.

Steve Christie graduated with the third-ever graduating class from the University of Windsor's joint Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Laws program with the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan. He completed law classes on both sides of the border and graduated cum laude from Detroit Mercy. Prior to law school, Steve obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Bishop's University in Quebec, with a major in Psychology and minor in Music. Steve has played and coached competitive sports throughout his life and continues to travel extensively throughout the world.

Born and raised in Orangeville, Ontario, Carey attended law school at Queen's University where she participated in a variety of organizations including, Pro Bono Students Canada, Queen's Legal Aid Clinic, Queen's Correctional Law Program and the Queen's Law Students Society. After graduating from Queen's Law in 2009, Carey spent three years working in Ottawa, Ontario, articling with one of Ottawa's most prominent civil law firms where she gained a wide range of experience in both corporate and civil matters and later joining one of Ottawa's most prominent criminal law firms where she practiced exclusively in the field of criminal law.

In June, 2012, Carey returned home to Orangeville to join Stutz, Brown & Self as an Associate, practising in all areas of law with a particular focus on real estate, wills and estate planning, estate administration, and small business and corporate matters. She is excited to be back and to have the opportunity to practise in her hometown.
